Animation
Minions & Monsters returns audiences to the wildly popular world of Illumination’s Despicable Me universe, bringing everyone’s favourite mischievous yellow henchmen back for another chaotic adventure. Since their debut in 2010’s Despicable Me, the Minions have become one of the most recognisable animated characters in the world, helping build a franchise that has grossed over $5 billion globally across multiple films. This new instalment once again features the unmistakable voice of Pierre Coffin as the Minions themselves—creating the characters’ distinctive gibberish language—alongside returning franchise stars including Steve Carell as Gru, Kristen Wiig as Lucy Wilde and Miranda Cosgrove as Margo. The film is produced by Illumination founder Chris Meledandri, the creative force behind the studio’s enormous animated hits including The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Sing and The Secret Life of Pets. This time the Minions stumble into a mysterious world of creatures and monsters that pushes their chaotic curiosity to the absolute limit. Packed with the franchise’s trademark slapstick comedy, colourful animation and relentless visual gags, Minions & Monsters expands the universe with new characters, new villains and even bigger set-pieces. Since their introduction the Minions have become a true global phenomenon—spawning theme-park attractions, viral memes and billions of views online—thanks to their lovable stupidity and unstoppable enthusiasm for mayhem. With its combination of fast-paced comedy and family-friendly adventure, Minions & Monsters promises another wildly entertaining chapter for the most unpredictable characters in modern animation.
